Guns Guts & Glory - Shader Breakdown

This is a game me and my friends made as a school project. I was responsible for the tech-art, but I also made all the tiling materials and textures in the level along with the characters and their armor (plus a few assets around the game).

All these shaders are made with only one common gray packed texture (except for icons and shapes), that consist of a set of perlin-noises and a cloud-noise, I could've used only one perlin-noise but I had a channel to spare so added one with a different seed and scale. The noises are then also used to offset and warp each other to create more pixel diversity within each noise based feature.

I only go through the more vital parts of the shaders in the videos, but I tend to expose every parameter I see useful to create the desired visual appearance. Some features came to not be used in the actual game but I left them in there to show what more we could've done.

I hope you'll enjoy this even if it might be more technical than art related. :)
